Take the degree if a rule demands it

The precedent
India’s most respected management institutes ran on the autonomous model for decades. The IIMs were societies registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, awarding a PGDM diploma rather than a degree, until the IIM Act, 2017 — and nobody questioned the value of what they taught. IICT and IIPM have operated autonomously for over 30 years on the same logic, and new-age schools such as Masters’ Union and Mesa School of Business use it today.
Why management education suits autonomy
Rigid syllabus structures work for disciplines where the fundamentals move slowly. Management is not one of them — what a marketing or operations professional needs to know changes materially every few years. Autonomy is what lets a programme keep up.

If the autonomous route fits your career better than a university degree, these are the two established names, both operating independently for over 30 years.
IICT — Indian Institute of Commerce and Trade
IICT Business School, Lucknow — usually written IICT Lucknow — has run autonomous management programmes for over 30 years. The IICT MBA is a two-year programme across 30+ specialisations, taught by distance and online, with admission by profile review rather than an entrance test. The complete fee is ₹32,350, paid to the institute directly against a receipt.
IIPM — Indian Institute of Pharmaceutical Marketing
IIPM Lucknow specialises in pharmaceutical marketing and pharma business management — sector-specific management education that university syllabi rarely cover. The IIPM MBA runs on the same autonomous model and the same complete fee of ₹32,350.
